Description


Juniez's HL1 LD weapon recreations with Fewes's HEV Mark IV arms remake, Gunship Mark II's remastered sprites and particle effects, Old Hermit's remastered sound and remade UI, and Game Zombie, FoolTaurus's, and Paysus's edited vanilla and custom animations.



If you experience any difficulties with this pack, carefully follow these instructions:

1. Follow this guide, to ensure your gameinfo.txt file has "bms/custom/* " designated a search path. If it does, ignore this step.
2. Subscribe to this addon by using the button above.
3. Launch your game.
4. Allow the game to fully launch, and then exit.
5. Go to C:\Program Files (x86\Steam\SteamApps\workshop\content\362890\2332773947.
6. Move 0_classic_weapons_pack.vpk from said folder to C:\Program Files (x86\Steam\SteamApps\common\Black Mesa\bms\custom.
7. Unsubscribe from this addon, again, with the button above.
8. Go to C:\Program Files (x86\Steam\SteamApps\workshop\content\362890 and delete the folder from before, 2332773947, along with all its contents.

If you intend to start using this pack in a new save game, you are ready as long as you have followed the above instructions. If you wish to resume an older save, follow these remaining instructions to complete the process:

9. Launch your game.
10. Load the desired save.
11. Turn on cheats by entering sv_cheats 1 into the developer's console.
12. Switch through your weapons to find any that aren't functioning or are experiencing broken animations or sounds.
13. For each affected weapon, delete it, switch to another weapon, and give it back to yourself with these commands:

ent_remove {weapon_name}
give {weapon_name}


Making sure to replace {weapon_name} with the desired weapon from this list:

weapon_crowbar weapon_glock weapon_357 weapon_mp5 weapon_shotgun weapon_crossbow weapon_rpg weapon_tau weapon_gluon weapon_hivehand weapon_frag weapon_satchel weapon_tripmine weapon_snark

Example:
]sv_cheats 1 ]ent_remove weapon_crossbow
(Switch to any other weapon)
]give weapon_crossbow
(Switch back to crossbow)

After doing all that, verify that all your weapons are functioning properly, and save your game.

THESE WEAPONS DO NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY IN MULTIPLAYER.

If your problem is sound-related, try entering snd_restart into the Developer's Console upon launching the game.
Otherwise, verify that you do not have any other mods installed that may conflict with this one, including:

  • Weapon mesh or material replacements
  • Sound replacements, especially ones that use an edited version of game_sounds_weapons.txt
  • Customized weapon animations
  • Scripts that alter weapon functionality, such as clip size or NPC fire rate



This project was the brainchild of Juniez, the hardsurface artist who created all of the weapons featured, and started development in late 2013. It began as a followup to a work-in-progress project of similar concept (see here)[polycount.com] for the Half-Life 2 arsenal, and blossomed into the pack you see here today.

Major changes in this pack include:

    • Gluon Gun
    • Hand Grenade
  • Custom weapon and ammo world-models
  • Fixed green channels for certain vanilla weapon normal maps
  • Fixed Tripmine UV's (no longer appear jagged)
  • Fixed 357 ironsight alignment
  • Adjusted world-model positioning / collison meshes (may clip on certain maps with fixed weapon spawn positions)
  • Adjusted FOV and positioning
  • Custom weapon, ammo, health, suit, and item HUD icons
  • HD versions of most of the original Half-Life weapon sounds
  • Modernized HD recreations of the original Half-Life VFX
